Slips
My self-forming drawings are meditations on musical inspiration and the desire and anxiety of intimacy and conformity. I am interested in the subtle complex gestures - 'slips' - that pass quickly between people in self-conscious and unguarded moments. Slips are micro-expressions of tenderness, mimicry and private reverie that belie secret desires just as they elude physical staying power and memory. This set of drawings are 12” x 8.5” in marker, colored pencil and crayon.
